The food, as always, was out of this world -- but the service was wayyyyyy worse than I have ever seen at a Tony Roma's. WHAT CHANGED WITH YOU GUYS??? I sat at the bar last night, and waited for a fairly long time for the bartender to show up. It was long enough that I started to wonder if there was even a bartender on duty. Other servers walked by, but not one of them even acknowledged me to say something like "she'll be right with you" or even pour me a glass of water while I waited. The bar top was filthy, with "rings" left behind from several generations of glasses that were there before me. There was a bug crawling on the silver metal area on the inside of the bar. The couple next to me saw how long I was waiting, and commented "the service really sucks here" and told me their story about waiting for bread that never showed up. The bar was not crowded; it was me and two other couples. The bartender was very nice when she returned, but kept disappearing in and out. My food came with the wrong sides, but the ribs were still great. Pinot Noir was great too, but the $12 price tag took the fun out of it. (181 Pinot Noir, about $12/bottle in the supermarket -- nothing fancy.) The only reason I am writing this review is hopefully mgmt will see it and get their house in order. I was there a few months ago and everything was great. Please bring back the Tony Roma that Sunny Isles knows and loves... Oh, and while you are at it -- please fix the wifi. Thanks.

Horrible service! We waited at least 10 min to get a waitress to tend to the table. After she shows up, she tends to the table that was sat 5 min after us. As soon as she comes over we are ready to order since I don't want to risk her not coming back for another 10 minutes. We got the appetizer and 40 minutes later, still no entree.

Monday is supposedly all you can eat ribs night. .. slowest service ever and the waiter was annoyed every time he came to the table. Had no water, was sooo thirsty and no sauce ...dry ribs. Total fail. Don't eat here.

I'm not crazy about Tony Roma's generally speaking. Their food is just average. They are OK but I'm not crazy about Tony Roma's. I've had fishy fish, tough shish kabob and chicken that is nothing to write home about. They are clean and the staff is fairly friendly. The parking lot is nice, pretty large spaces. If nothing else is open, they are all right. I have had good food on occasion, but it is all too rare an event. There are many better bets in that area.

Not the same place I remember as a kid. They changed a lot if their food. I had a salad and it was really good, but what happened to the onion loaf? It used to be an onion loaf...now it is onion rings. Not the same.

Wow, don't come to the bar late on a weekday, bartender has no interest in being here or serving the 2 people at the bar, food was adequate.

Five of us went for my husband's birthday. The food was good, the service was so so. I had mahi mahi, mom had chicken and ribs, one friend had steak medallions, the other friend had salmon, and the birthday boy had a steak. Steak was ordered medium but came out well done. He liked it anyway. The servings were large and the food tasted good. Now about the service. We had to ask for bread, and even after asking it didn't come until we were half way through our entrees. We had to ask for refills on drinks. My entree came while I was eating the salad. Since the table was small I had to hold the salad in order to eat it. There was no place to set it down. Our server disappeared for part of our meal and we had to ask other servers if we needed anything. When the check came there was a mistake that had to be corrected. Our server was friendly but not very good.

If only there were more restaurants that served beef ribs closer to Dallas! Great service and always tasty ribs. The colse slaw is very good.

Decent food overall, but ABSOLUTE HORRIBLE! SERVICE delayed meals and the waiters can be very forgetful! I would highly recommend you avoid this restaurant!

Me and the fam went here last monday. We had bigger plans in mind for dinner but after a long day traveling we settled for Tony Roma's which was just up the block from our Hotel. It was a Monday night the place was kinda quiet and we were seated right away. Apparently Monday is all-you-can-eat ribs night at Tony Roma's (who knew??) So this was what I had for dinner. Started with the Beef Ribs and followed those up with some baby back ribs. Apparently under the all-you-can-eat plan you are not supposed to be able to order different types of ribs but our waiter hooked us up. DW had some sort of shrimp and pasta dish that she also enjoyed. After we paid the bill the waiter gave me a bottle of the Tony Roma's original BBQ sauce. He apparently noticed that I was a big fan after I poured about a half a gallon of it on my plate for my ribs and fries. My wife on the otherhand thought the waiter had a crush on me. Who knows, in either case I got a complimentary bottle of BBQ sauce to go!!

With as many years TR's is at this location, one would think they would have their act together by now! I always enjoyed TR's ribs, but when you wait an uncalled for amount of time for them and then they are served not even warm, I truly believe it's time for a new management team! Sorry, but I cannot recommend this location any longer.

First and last time I come here. long wait (1 1/2 hour for food, 40 minute so get the bill) Ugly food, the worst spinach dip of my life, and a tuna salad with the worst sauce. The waitress was very rude, and when we complained about the time waiting she mentioned that they didn't have enough cooks! Never in my life will I come to this palce again.

I go here since it is right by my condo for their bbq chicken. This is not your typical Tony Roma's it is bright, nicely decorated, wood floors, and a full bar with flat screen tvs. On monday's they have all you can eat ribs. I usually got for the 1/2 chicken with two sides. They have healthy sides I usually get the steamed green beans and ask for double. They have a great iceburg lettuce slad with blue cheese, tomato, bacon it is fresh and tasty.

The food is great, I go to all the locations, this is one of my favorite places but the salad is rarely ever cold and crisp that's my only complaint and once in a while if they are really busy, the service isn't great but its good for groups and family and kids. Great frozen Margaritas !!

What happened to Tony Roma's? Third time we go for baby back and beef ribs, they were tough and chewy. We go to our apt in miami beach for the weekends and this is my favorite place to eat , I told my husband today , I better start liking Epicure or Flannigan . Beef ribs were so dry , like they were made early in the morning and just put under the warmer. My baby back were tough and dry. I guess this was it . 3rd time should be the final.

Been here a lot as we live down the street. Prior to becoming vegan, I would say they have THE BEST BBQ ribs and everyone that we have taken here agrees! Monday night is all you can eat ribs so if you love ribs you'll definitely get your monies worth. Happy Hour used to be at the whole restaurant but now it's only at the bar. I used to love the spinach & artichoke dip, chicken spinach stack and salmon/shrimp piccata again now vegan I don't order them anymore but definitely try those items. I now get Grilled Chicken & Fire-Roasted Vegetable Salad, without the Chicken and extra veggies so they will accommodate vegetarians & vegan's :-) And all the sides are pretty good, I ask for them to be cooked in olive oil if they aren't already.

Not a good experience. Went on a Thursday evening and waited for 15 min with a half empty restaurant. Finally seated and waited another 15 min and had to go find a server. My salad came out when everyone else was almost done with theirs and the potatoes on my dinner were overcooked from sitting under the window but then cold. Filet was poor quality. Felt bad for server, seemed to be the only one waiting on every table. Won't go back.

It was alright. Everything you could expect from Tony Roma's. My ribs were good, I'd give them a generous 7 out of 10. Mark is a great waiter, I would HIGHLY recommend asking for him. It kinda seems like the place is trying to be a little too fancy for the food they are serving if you know what I mean...

  • The decor of the restaurant wasn't as upmarket as some of the Tony's I've been in, but was still nice. Our server was very friendly and polite and gave us extra time to look at the menu as we were so busy chatting. He brought colouring things for my nephew also to keep him busy. The three adults had fillet mignon which was gorgeous as always, with garlic green beans and garlic potatoes. The cocktails weren't as cheap as we expected, $8 for a margarita. The desserts were from a great choice and were delicious! Overall we were very happy and left a large tip!

We were on vacation in the Miami beach area for four nights and this by far was the biggest disappointment of the whole trip. We walked up Collins avenue to a nice aroma that made us happy to go in, but that is about where it all stopped. Me and my girl ordered off the special anniversary combos thinking those seemed the best, she also ordered a sausage soup. The soup and salads arrived together. The salad was marginal at best, but the soup was disappointing. It was basically cut up hot dogs in a cup, no way was it sausage, just tasted like cheap hot dogs. That's about where the food and our waiter stopped appearing... We waited another 40 minutes and decided that we were done and got up to leave. The people at the front ran to the back to get the manager. The manager came out and tried to play things cool and brought out our entries and said they were done. We politely declined, but she insisted we take them with us on the house, so we said fine. We walked back to our hotel which was about a half a mile. When we got up to the room we opened up our steaks. Mine was supposed to be medium-well, but was actually rare. My girls was supposed to be medium-rare but was infact very rare, as in you cut into it and it looks just like you got it from the store uncooked. Additionally she had gotten broccoli which was supposed to be steamed, but instead was raw and seemed if it had been blanched for about 5 seconds so they could say it was cooked. So instead of the manager being honest and saying our food wasn't done, she lied and pulled it off unfinished trying to make the place seem better, needless to say it didn't work, and lying doesn't earn customers.

First off, Roma's gets 4 stars just for having $4 margaritas on Thursdays! You've won my heart, Romy Rome! Now, the mushroom soup was yummy and "meaty" even though there was no meat and the spicy shrimp appetizer was great! I just wish the "slaw" underneath the shrimp had sauce on it. Ever had dry ass coleslaw folks? No bueno! The spicy seafood pasta was good, but it left me wanting to ask the chef if he likes a little pasta with his spicy, cuz that ish opened my nasal passages! The strawberry cheesecake was yummy, but sadly, too small to be shared with 3 people. Next time, I'll probably just grab my own. An overall tasty experience, though next time, I doubt I'll order the seafood pasta. They have great drink specials, though, which doesn't hurt!

The food is very good but, the cleanliness was bad. The bathrooms were a hot mess. I was expecting something a little more glamorous being it is in sunny isles beach blocks from the t rump hotel. The food is good but, they need to improve management and hire better people. The food was 4/5 stars. service 3/5 cleanness 2/5 price somewhat pricey..

The ribs had no flavor and this was not Tony Roma's sauce. The usual spicy sauce was not there. We did takeout so I did not know thus until I arrived home. Will not be going back unless there are major changes back to the real Tony Roma's!!

Man this place was a disappointment. Being our last night in Miami, we really didn't want to venture to far from our hotel nor did we want to spend too much. So, being I had never been to a Tony Romas, we decided to give them a shot.......Big Mistake!!!!!! So its intriguing with its neon lights all lit up, shining up against giant palm trees in front of the main entrance and while walking towards the Tony;s, we were lead to believe by the delicious aromas coming from the restaurant, that we would be in for a treat....only the opposite. The place was crowded and we should have known by the bland careless personality of the hostess, that our expectations should have been lowered. Within 5 min we got seated outside which we preferred. Our server then greeted us with more of an unprofessional, lazy kind of approach. We both thought the steaks with onion/garlic cream sauce looked really good so, we both ordered that. I asked for medium rare and my babe asked for his medium well. It also comes with two sides. For one of our sides, we both went with a salad and with me getting my dressing on the side. Then for my second side , I got steamed broccoli and my hun ordered onion rings I believe. I also ordered a little bowl of their sausage soup for starters. The soup arrived within a few minutes looking pretty bland. Which it for the most part turned out to be. The so called sausage tasted more like cheap hotdogs and the flavor tasted more canned. Our salads then arrived looking sloppy. My dressing on the side looked like it had spilled over half my salad while on his venture to us, which he was too lazy to notice. So....minutes go by, which then lead into a half an hour...which then led into 45 min...no steaks...Really?? and our server comes by in a careless way and goes.."oh your steak will come out in a few"...Are you kidding me???? needless to say, we got up and told our server we are leaving. As we are leaving, the manager comes to us and says" Oh we were just going to bring you out the steaks" um really? We were like no, it's ok, were just gonna leave and pay for the soup and she said "well don't worry about it, you don't have to pay for it and will just give you the steaks". So, we were like ok whatever. Takes an additional 5 min to get them and when we get to our room to open the containers to see two small steaks. I cut into my steak only to see it is literally RARE!! I mean like they barely cooked it!! And my broccoli?? Raw!!! As if they popped it in a microwave for a sec then took it out.....absolutely a joke!! At least we did not have to pay for it but my god. Never again, that's for sure.

Our server for the night was hayatt. The hostess was super extra kind made me feel very comfortable. The appetizers and mojitos were good to start and at good price. the pasta was not heated all the way through. At dessert we got the order wrong but we still ate it. The worst part was waiting almost 15 minutes for the check and charge me three times wrong. The manager on duty never came to our table to check us up on the bill error.

Craving ribs I went to Tony Romas on Sunny Isles. As I sat in this restaurant eating with friends I couldn't help but ask myself what has happened to this once wonderful restaurant. The original In North Miami Beach on Biscayne Blvd. was fantastic but now a sprawling chain of restaurants and fast food locations at the mall something has been lost. Tony Roma's started going downhill sometime around the time they decided to 86 the corn souffle side dish. Their Doral location was recently closed by the Health Department. So here I sat in Sunny Isles; avoid this location at all costs as it is a tourist trap catering to the tourists in the hotels nearby. Service was horrible and the legendary baby back ribs were anything but legendary, more like tough and chewy. Tony Romas could learn a lot from Flannigans on how to make ribs. The only thing that was really good was the onion loaf. Bread was served with some kind of nasty garlic margarine type spread, just gross. In all fairness the South Miami location has been much better in the past. Stay away from this location unless you want to eat with tourists and experience the worst in dining and service. Any Flannigans or Bobby Rubino's in Pompano will give you much better food; even the onion loaf is better at Bobby's. The evening was a total disappointment and very embarassing for me personally because I had recommended this restaurant. The waiter smelled strongly of cigarettes so we have a pretty good idea why the service took for what seemed like forever. Shortly after posting this review I received a comment from Tina W. of Tony Roma's corportate. If you notice all of the reviews that have one star have a comment from Tina W. claiming Tony Roma's wants to make it up to you. Knowing it was far too late I reluctantly gave my contact information with a promise that I would hear from the managment of this Tony Roma's location. I never did. The bottom line is they apparently do not care that they are serving up bad food and service. This is in no uncertain terms a tourist trap in my opinion. They don't care because their customers are tourists and not returning. It is highly recommended that you avoid this Tony Roma's location unless you have several hours to waste waiting for bad food. I know I will never return.

Food was great, location was very clean but the wait staff seemed preoccupied. There was a small business meeting going on inside of a meeting room and everyone seemed more worried about them. Our waitress was very slow and forgot several things we requested. Not a typical Tony Romas

I'm not sure what kind of review I can give for Tony Roma's being a Pescatarian (thats a vegetarian that eats seafood), but I had a good time tonight. Kids were actually very excited when we pulled up, because they realized that we haven't been here in a long time. Of course my 2 oldest "things" wanted ribs. My wife ordered the kicking shrimp appetizer to share with thing 3, and I ordered the shrimp and salmon piccata, which was a new dish on the menu. Of course, we had an onion loaf, which is probably the best (and worst thing) on the menu, and well since onions are good for you, it made up for the fact they were battered, fried and served with the famous TR BBQ sauce. And speaking of the sauce, well I have had a whole lot of sauce in my life, and the TR original sauce is right up there with the best of them. It really is awesome. A little bit of spice, tangy, you can pretty much put it on anything. The red hot sauce is also awesome. So why did we end up here after not being here for so long? Well, it was a little before 9, and we called another place we wanted to go which had a wait. On a whim, I called here and there was no wait. We arrived and sat right away. Ordered. Food delivery time was not great, but not bad. Our waiter was very attentive and even asked if we wanted certain dishes to come out before others. He brought out bread, drinks, and before we knew it the onion loaf arrived. Soon enough, all the other food showed up. Kids enjoyed everything, the wifey was happy. My dish was nice. Came with rice and broccoli. The salmon was cooked nicely, was a nice size portion and had very nice flavoring. Lemony with capers, not too overbearing. For someone who usually doesn't eat cooked salmon (only raw), it was very satisfying and tasted good. Shrimp was OK, but I was shrimped out from the buffalo shrimp I eat earlier. Kids rib meals were good sized, although my thing 1 was still hungry. Nothing but bones left on the ribs. He ate some of my salmon. He is a very picky eater and liked the salmon. All in all, we all had a god time. I remember the days of endless all you can eat slabs and sat and enjoyed watching the kids munch on ribs that I know brought so much pleasure to me in the past. Regarding the price, its worth mentioning that feeding a family of five, the bill was significantly lower than some of the other places we go, even with the beers we ordered. For this reason they get 4 stars. Good Service, Good Food, awesome BBQ sauce. I'll be back.

We decided to check out this Tony Roma's for my girlfriends birthday with our sons, as a family dinner. After all, Tony Roma's had sent us a Free Entree certificate and it was close to the house. The location is nice, situated on the West Side of A1A. We arrived around 7'ish and decided to sit outside in between the heaters. So far so good!!! We were enjoying spending quality time together and before we knew it 20 minutes had passed and no one had even taken our drink orders. So I went in and informed the hostess and things actually picked up. Our waitress/bartender arrived and took our food and drink orders. The boys had Ribs and Mac & Cheese for entrees. I still don't understand Mac and Cheese being an entree, but I degress..... She decided upon the Rib and Filet Medallion with a side of the loaded mash and broccoli. While I had the Salmon and Chipotle Garlic Shrimp! Both were from their new Crave the Kick menu. While waiting on the food, we enjoyed a glass of Apothic Red Wine and a glass of Sangria. The Sangria tasted basically like Kool Aid, but if you mix it with the Apothic Red, it's actually pretty decent. We spoke with the manager about the wait time and true to his word, everything from that point flowed. the food arrived shortly thereafter. My Salmon was actually perfectly cooked, but of course had it been marinated for a period time, it would have made it all the better. Her steak was a bit chewy, but it was ok. The jalapeno mash potatoes came loaded and provided a different level of flavor. The broccoli was a little overcooked, but nevertheless, it was decently flavored. Initially, I was going to give this Tony Roma's a 1 Star, but after speaking with the manager and the way the staff stepped up to the plate and made the rest of our evening a pleasure, earned them a 2 1/5 Stars. But I do really appreciate the manager, for saving the night.

Prolly one of the worth decisions for a casual meal in our lives. Waiter was in outer space. Food order was wrong and took forever. Place wasn't even busy. No follow up how's everyone questions. No one cared. Walked out angry and that's every fun. Will never go back. And that's ok.

Another great Tony Roma's meal. I sat out on the patio and enjoyed a half rack of ribs, half an onion loaf and a delicious habanero margarita. Service was spot on. I never had to ask for a thing. My only wish is that they served their famous sauce in something other than only one small cup.

Went last night for my birthday dinner. Service took forever and we had to flag down our waitress for drink refills. Food took about 30 minutes and when it arrived it didn't look good. My ribs barley had any meat, the filet medallions looked like hamburger meat, and I could have gotten a better hamburger at Burger King. The table next to us complained and the manager came out saying how the kitchen was backed up because only 2 grills were working or something like that. I only went because of the free birthday entree coupon, but my friends were really disappointed. Will not be coming to this location again.

The service here was really great! The hostess was on the phone so another lady immediately came up and greeted us at the front was friendly. Our waitress was very attentive and very accommodating. The food was delicious and came out pretty fast. The shrimp tacos were delicious and so were the ribs! This is definitely a place I would come back to the next time I'm in Miami!

We arrived (2people) at 7.15. Now is 8.50 and only have water. After 35' asking a waitress who is going to come to the table and she said ..waitress is coming. Then 15' more and nothing I asked again and other waitress said let me check. Finally a girl came and she said that she didn't know she had our table. She took the order. One Merlot wine and filet mignon.. After 15' only brought water.. Is that service for a high class restsurant ?!!. And were lot of empty tables it was not full. Nobody cares.. Terrible time. ..

After a very long wait, I received burnt ribs. Why would they serve burnt ribs??? I am a big Tony Roma's fan and ribs lover, but this location needs severe help. When I showed the waiter my ribs, he offered to make me new ones. Everybody at my table was already eating and I could not wait another 45 minutes for my food to be prepared, again. I had to eat a little bit of everybody's portions. Horrible experience.

Group of friends went on new years eve a few hours before closing and fortunately it wasn't busy and we were seated fairly quickly! First time in Miami and friend recommended this spot. I got the filet mignon and honestly it was delicious. Their mushroom topping is so good and I actually hate mushrooms! Inside and outdoor seating was very comfortable and staff was very very helpful. There's something on the menu for everyone! Only problem is food took a bit long coming out but understandable considering size of group and time at night and we all ordered steaks. But like I said. the filets are melt in your mouthhhh savory.

We had a Birthday party there 4-7-15 for my cousin everyone arrived on time around 7nish, service started off pretty good, until we had to wait for the food which was understandable because of the amount of people that were in attendance. But waiting almost 45 mins for food no one checked to see if we needed anything. We only had one waitress and she was really doing her best to take care of a party of 20-25 people which she should not be doing by her self, she had help in the very beginning but that quickly faded. The other waitress disappeared for over 35 mins approximately. When the food came out it was not to our liking it was dry and not piping hot as if it was just made, but we ate it any way because we where hungry and we were waiting for a while. And even worse the BIRTHDAY girl waited for her food for about a hour which was simply ridiculous. Kudos to the waitress that stuck it out and did her best to serve us. I (think) her name was debra she was a African American in her mid twenties and she wears glasses. That was my first time there and my last time there. But one good thing happened the manager paid for the BD girl dinner, that was very nice of her.

Received email back from Social Media Director followed by an email from the local manager who asked " I CALL HIM" Huh? I gave him my cell and told him you can reach me any day after 4PM on this #. We are now approaching 1 month Later and NO CALL From Local Manager - Bottom line they act like they give a dam, but in the end They could care less.

Our experience was poor from the beginning. The hostess' don't communicate and we were asked several times if we needed a table while we waited for our table to be set up on the patio. When we were seated, we were not greeted for a solid 10 minutes. When we got our food, my medium well steak medallions were rare and my husbands steak was extremely over cooked (not good for a guy who likes rare steaks). We were also never given any house bread. Now I know that tony Roma's is really beginning to slack in its food/service. I would never recommend this place to friends.

The service and food were both good and the meal was very well priced compared to similar restaurants I've eaten in the local area. I would gladly eat here again but the menu could use a greater amount of choice in my opinion.

A big shout-out to the amazing staff for accommodating my special needs students and fellow teachers by opening their doors 10 min early for us. Thank u for your compassion and understanding :-) Service was a bit slow in the beginning, which is understandable as we came in before they opened. However, we never had to wait long after that for drinks or anything; in fact our waitress brought us drink refills without us having to ask. The food was average, comparable to Chili's or TGIF. The highlight being the spinach artichoke dip and the fries. I had the Italian panini, which was decent. The onion loaf was hard to eat. My student liked his ribs. The restaurant was clean. Prices seemed reasonable. They had a decent lunch crowd for a Wednesday afternoon. I wouldn't go here for date night or anything, but a reasonable option for a family outing.

This place is pretty good for the price, service could've been a little better but to be fair our waiter was relatively new and he did a decent job relative to his experience. The assortment of drinks is wonderful, tons of wines to choose from and the sangria was wonderful. Location is great, right across from our hotel and the beach, prices weren't too bad and it has a nice setting. With a party of 10 we had a great experience there.

Tony Roma's was great. I had the barbeque ribs and chicken which were both very good. The salad was also great and my waiter was very nice. Tony Roma's has a great location about 1 mile south of Golden Beach, FL. By Gregg L. Friedman MD

Poor service, poorly cooked food. Spotty at best. It's a rib place but the ribs were terrible. BBQ chicken was overly sweet. The restaurant is dark and run down.

  • Tony Romas is on Collins Avenue in Sunny Isles, a short walk from the Monaco and Thunderbird hotels in the Miami area. It is located directly on the main road so you can't really miss it! The menus is based around ribs and their different sauces although they do offer other menu items such as chicken, steak, salads and veggie options. The restaurant is part of a chain and is dotted around the and Canada at various locations (we've also visted the one in Niagara Falls) We walked down from the Thunderbird in the evening and were seated immediately in a big booth. The servers were friendly and helpful and they discussed the various different options with my mum as she suffers from coeliac disease (wheat/gluten intolerance basically). They managed to sort something out on the menu that she could have and I ordered a plate of ribs which were absolutely delicious. For the life of me I cannot remember the sauce but I believe it was the main one, and definitely wasn't too spicy for me. Prices weren't stupidly expensive. We paid around $40 for two meals and soft drinks.
